Sonja Lyubomirsky (AB Harvard, summa cum laude; PhD Stanford) is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Riverside and author of The How of Happiness and The Myths of Happiness (published in 39 countries). Lyubomirsky’s research—on the possibility of lastingly increasing happiness via gratitude, kindness, and connection interventions—have been the recipients of many grants and honors, including an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Basel, the Diener Award for Outstanding Midcareer Contributions in Personality Psychology, the Christopher Peterson Gold Medal, a Positive Psychology Prize, and a twice awarded Faculty of the Year Award. She lives in Santa Monica, California, with her family.

Raj Raghunathan holds a Ph.D. from the Stern School of Business at New York University and currently serves as a marketing professor at the McCombs School of Business, at the University of Texas in Austin. Raj's research integrates principles from psychology, behavioral sciences, decision theory, and marketing to explore the connections between emotions and consumer behavior. His scholarly contributions have appeared in esteemed publications including the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and his work has garnered attention in popular media outlets including The New York Times.
